YOU FIGHT LIKE A DAIRY FARMER

Ahhhhhhhhh. Now that's satisfying, I'm going to play with it a bit more as it doesn't quite look right yet, got to get the colour right and it took me ages to find a good enough pixel based image editor (and even this one doesn't do the right size brush. I'll have a play with the colour( as I look a bit more like another world than monkey island) and then get back to the insult sword fighting

"getting through one day at a time"

New piece. Old Boy again, one day I'll get over it.
Now, somethings been bugging me. I have seen this film lets about 78 times. I got it on dvd around 2005 and I loved it, so I searched for the script online to make sure I'm quoting Oh Dae-Su's name correctly and EVERY quote from imdb to wiki to some script on some site reads that the name translates "Getting along with people" but I just can't bring myself to change it even if that's what it actually translates to. I haven't been this confused with a subtitle since i watched ghost in the shell 2 and its completely different than the English translation. urgh. ANYWAY I've been meaning to do this one for ages so here it is...

Goram and Vincent Versus Clifton Suspension Bridge AND The Toy Soldiers

"Those naughty folklore giants Vincent and Goram were fast approaching Bristol and as the last form of defence the Toy Army Soldiers brought to Clifton Suspension Bridge their mightiest battle tanks, state of the art armoured utility vehicles, a selection of gun motor carriages, seven fire support half tracks and even just few jeeps armed with big fucking guns. Only no one had remembered the toll of 50p payable in any silver except 5p. What followed was a quick massacre of the brave Army Men infantry as the suspension bridge was torn down. Luckily Vincent and Goram were calmed down before they hit Bristol by an old lady with a megaphone on one of the big red buildings and they were even convinced to help rebuild the bridge in exchange for a lifetime supply of ale and two winged thrones in the Avon Gorge where they currently reside."
This is what I did today ( and yesterday) ( .... and maybe the day before that too) it's cheeky folklore giants Goram and Vincent taking on the Toy Soldiers on Clifton Suspension Bridge.
It's a mix of about 70 layers, some wire and cardboard and some green plastic and it's pretty big, soon to be exhibited as part of the Bristol Festival of Photography in Goram and Vincent at the Centrespace gallery in Bristol... exciting
A close up of Vincent
And Goram
It's just some good silly fun to be honest. I like the fact that the other photos are traditional photography, Utilising a mixture of documentary photography, new media and text, this exhibit explores the Avon Gorge’s role as a vast natural phenomena in the midst of the urban environment. And I just thought I would slam a big picture of two giants kicking the Clifton Suspension Bridge in the ass whilst toy army men fail to protect it.
Quotes from the show " I laughed like a drain at your work"
I've never heard that expression but the guy wanted to buy it!
So here it is in the show
And a shot of the whole room (with my other piece of work Nowhere Wood being that big monolith in the middle.)

The Great Red Dragbum. ( 1st Half)
Kum ba yah!! I've been working on all sorts lately, but this Gumping piece is nearly done!
If you can't tell, its from the film Red Dragon, and I have replaced the William Blake's Great Red Dragon painting with something arguably even greater!! I couldn't wait any longer to post the first half of this new clip (because in the second half he tears up and consumes the painting, which is an after effect nightmare) So for now enjoy just the first half but there is much more to come...

Anyone here with an AB blood type, raise your hand.
Hmm. This is something new. I'm gonna play around with this Gumped up image and see if i can get her to look any better. / bigger. It's the fight scene from Old Boy only I've panoramic-ed it up to make one big fight and I have Gumped my way into the middle there. I've loved this Streets of Rage style fight scene since I first watched the Old Boy and have wanted for so long to show some art based appreciation, but up untill now, havn't been able to and let me tell you, it feels good! Gumping is also 30% Theraputic ...
Anyway, enough of my Park Chan-Wook (or is it Chan-Wook Park, the internet does not know!) hard on here's a closer shot of the me bit

Test gump video
Here's a test video Gump, it REALLY doesn't make sense and I wouldn't consider this work, but hey it's a test ok!I tried using Blogger's video to upload, but I found that it's really small and rubbish picture so I'm going to stick with youtube for now... As I said before, by using video I am changing everything. What works as an image now fails in video, video opens up new doors for me and Gumping but closes some others... but it truly is the act of Gumping. Anyway a Red Dragon is on the way with a Gumping twist ... see you next time gadget.

Al. Don't Believe His Lies

Here's a quickie, cheating a bit but it was fun ! Had to take use old Polaroid of myself for this one and the cheating comes from the fact, I took the writing under the photo from elsewhere in the film, so you really shouldn't believe my lies! + this is a blog exclusive copy as the writing is larger so you can read it on your internet machines. As for what is coming next in the Gump forest... American Psycho, Old Boy Corridor fight, maybe a King Kong and defiantly an ET when I get my hands on a red light bulb ... and i might be working on a monkey island 2 gump (as there is more detail in the characters on two.) but that is gonna require a few more pots of coffee!

Brick a Brackground

Found this on an older computer, it's the redux model for my Nowhere Woods piece from my Noir Nailsea collection that I exhibited in the Tate Modern. (its taken in my garage so theres a bit of sneaky brick wall back there but I don't think you will mind.
Here's how it was back in my degree show.
I got through more spray paint than Banksy on a Saturday night in those days. So the differences were, in the new one I put a bit more color in for the grass and soil, and Instead of an LED light lighting the piece from up high, I used a cake tin and some tracing paper with the LED inside and light the model from the horizon. I'm like a Blue Peter wizard... you think that's good? you should see my pie tin UFOs

12:45, restate my assumptions: Gumping
At the moment I’m pretty stoked on a series I call “Gumping” after the bit in the Forest Gump movie where he goes to see the president .
Here’s a pic I ripped from you tube.
Is this really art? It came from me cocking around for a face book profile picture and I enjoyed making it so much I decided to carry on. Some take insane time to do and others take a few hours to do. I’m sure there is plenty you can say about these pieces but I would like to sum it up here with this single image
A short, not too good looking guy trying to get in with the cool guys. I basically find a piece in a film that calls out to me, there’s gotta be room for me to fit (I’m not gonna super impose myself onto anyone) and it shouldn’t be too famous, for example, the shower scene in Psycho … but now I think about it that might be kinda funny.
It’s sort of a joke in some cases and in others I might be saying things on a more personal level, and in other cases, well… as Bill from Kill Bill: Vol. 2 might say, “it sounded cool”. I think there’s a lot to be said about that Line, it's important for allot of things we do.
Hey, here it is, Bill talking to Budd about The Crazy 88…
from IMDB’s Kill Bill: Vol.2 quotes
Bill: Nah, there weren't really eighty-eight of them. They just called themselves "The Crazy 88."
Budd: How come?
Bill: I don't know. I guess they thought it sounded cool
I guess they thought it sounded cool... in that one description, Tarantino has given us license to do whatever the hell we want with art work/ in general... sometimes we don't need a bullshit art reason to do our work and I take a lot of comfort in that...
Hey, speaking of the crazy 88s, check out my last attempt at Gumping. Picture me furiously VLCing the shit out of the House of Blue Leaves fight, thinking yeah I’m gonna Gump myself into the blue background bit, it’ll be funny and easy, it'll be lots of bad ass, sword fighting Yakuza versus The Bride and I'll be there wimping it up with a sword... ! and as I screen cap my images
I slowly realise that I’m basically already there …
Bollocks to that I thought, the punchlines already done,I look too much like a short, chubby Asian man, (a bit like Michael McIntyre only slightly less camp) but that’s the kind of thing I’m going for, so you won't be seeing me Gumped into Kill Bill anytime soon...
I have no idea of the illegal factor in these pieces but I’ll keep making them till they sue me and even then I’ll just use that for publicity.
Anyway enough of the Gump.
